In a shocking incident when people are celebrating Christmas, Hong Kong police recovered around HK$ 4.8 million on a busy road. They say this currency is part of missing HK$15 million which went missing when a money transport van with faulty rear door spilled large bundles of cash.
Some motorists and passers by who were traveling early picked up the notes before armed police men staved them off to restore order. Police informed that after repeated appeals, some people returned back the money they carried with them.
The van was carrying a total of HK $525 million and each cash box contained HK$17.5 million. Spokeswoman added that internal probe was underway on the incident.
