The shooting of Ram Charan’s much-anticipated film Peddi is progressing at a steady pace, with the makers firmly targeting an April 30 release. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film has Sukumar backing it as a co-producer, with the Pushpa director closely monitoring the project’s progress.

Although Sukumar has deliberately stayed away from the shooting floors—allowing his former protégé Buchi Babu complete creative freedom to shape the film according to his vision—he is expected to step in during the crucial final stages. Sources reveal that Sukumar will watch the locked edit and offer his inputs before Peddi enters full-fledged post-production.

Insiders say Buchi Babu has already finalized the first half of the film and is currently shooting important second-half sequences. The filming of songs, however, is still pending. The director is confident of wrapping up the entire shoot by next month, following which the edit will be locked and screened for Sukumar.

It is worth recalling that Sukumar had earlier suggested significant changes to the climax of Buchi Babu’s directorial debut Uppena. The climax was reshot based on his feedback, and the film went on to become a massive blockbuster. This has once again raised expectations that Sukumar’s inputs on Peddi could prove decisive in elevating the final product.
