A good director conceives a good role and that ends up entertaining the audiences, that’s when good comedy happens says comedian L B Sriram. He says that forced attempts will not make the audience laugh and it ends up being a flop show.
Before acting, LB Sriram was a known writer and he hit big time as a comedian with the film Chaala Bagundi. In fact, once he was cast, he was the one who improvised on his role and had the audiences in splits.
But now, he says he finds it difficult to act in comedy roles written by others. He maintains that good comedy is the result of good writing and reveals that good writers are hard to come by these days. Though he hasn’t been as busy as in the past, Sriram says he is not without work either.
But he confesses that he has no plans to direct as of now. He adds that it is nice that the industry is full of good comedians who are carrying forward their legacy.
