‘Erra Bassu is a satirical term used to refer people who come from rural areas and the perfect reply for this satire to showcase how these rural people value their relations and follows ethics’, says veteran director ‘Darsakaratna’ Dasari Narayana Rao. But why did he is not into filmmaking from last four years after wrapping his 150th flick? ‘Due to few personal reasons I’ve distanced for years. But now Erra Bassu will mark the return and with a change’ Dasari adds.
In an exclusive face-to-face interview with Gulte.com, Dasari revealed how Telugu industry is missing quality movies. ‘We should not blame audiences for not patronizing variety of stories. Our filmmakers are not making exceptional and emotional movies’, he quips, pointing out that filmmakers of these days are worried about hero, but not stories. ‘Story is my hero and it continues to deliver the success’, Dasari said.
Expressing his desire to remake his own blockbuster flicks like Katakatala Rudrayya and Edantustula Meda, the veteran filmmaker stressed the need for modern day audiences to watch such everlasting flicks. Also he agreed to share his cinematic experiences for coming generations. ‘Directors should be master of all crafts.
He is always the captain and will call shots’, Dasari said, while sharing his thought about the ongoing writers and directors conflicts in Tollywood. Speaking at large about ‘Erra Bassu’, Dasari explained why he has chosen Manchu Vishnu for his grandson role. The flick is releasing on November 14th at your nearest theatres.
