“Telangana Govt vs Tollywood: Showdown Over Ticket Prices Ahead of Sankranti Blockbusters”
In light of the recent Sandhya Theatre incident and the Telangana government’s firm stance on limiting ticket price hikes and benefit shows, the Telugu film industry is taking immediate steps to resolve the issue. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed his frustration over the incident, signaling a need for action. As a result, the Telangana government has made it clear that there will be no further increases in ticket prices or benefit shows.
To address this matter and find a resolution, the Tollywood delegation, led by TDFC Chairman Dil Raju, has secured an appointment with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for a crucial meeting scheduled at 10:00 AM tomorrow. The meeting will involve prominent figures from the Telugu film industry, including leading heroes, directors, and producers who are available in the city.
The Telangana government has shown strong resistance to the idea of increasing ticket prices and hosting benefit shows, putting the onus on the film industry to address these concerns swiftly. With the highly anticipated Sankranti season approaching, the urgency of resolving the issue before the festive period has grown significantly.
In a statement, Dil Raju emphasized the need for finding a middle ground between the Telangana government and the Telugu film industry. He expressed optimism that tomorrow’s meeting could pave the way for a constructive dialogue, fostering a solution that benefits both parties.
This high-level meeting follows a generous contribution to Shri Tej’s family, where a collective cheque of Rs 2 crore was pledged by Allu Arjun (Rs 1 crore), Sukumar (Rs 50 lakh), and Mythri Movie Makers (Rs 50 lakh), highlighting the industry’s solidarity in times of crisis.
More information is expected to emerge once the meeting concludes, shedding light on the outcomes of these crucial discussions.
