Game Changer Sets New Box Office Record for Ram Charan
Telugu superstar Ram Charan’s political action drama “Game Changer” has made an impressive debut at the domestic box office, surpassing expectations, especially with its strong performance in the Hindi version.
Boosted by robust pre-sales and the star power of Ram Charan, along with his collaboration with acclaimed director Shankar, the film achieved a solid opening, particularly in the Telugu-speaking states.
Despite receiving mixed reviews, “Game Changer” recorded the biggest solo opening of Ram Charan’s career in major regions.
Early estimates indicate that the movie is expected to earn ₹45–50 crores in the Telugu states alone, setting a promising tone for its box office journey.
This performance surpasses Ram Charan’s previous solo opening record in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, held by “Vinaya Vidheya Rama”, which grossed ₹33 crores in 2019.
In Karnataka, the film is estimated to gross between ₹4-5 crores, while Tamil Nadu and Kerala collectively contribute approximately ₹2.50 crores.
Surprisingly, the Hindi version has emerged as a standout, raking in an estimated ₹7 crores—marking Ram Charan’s biggest Hindi opening outside of RRR.
Overall, the domestic opening of Game Changer is projected to be in the range of ₹60-65 crores gross. While these are commendable figures, they might have been even higher with stronger word-of-mouth promotion.
The film is likely to see a substantial boost during the Sankranthi festival, a period that typically drives higher box-office collections.
Interestingly, the Hindi version is performing particularly well in the northern regions, buoyed by positive word of mouth, in contrast to the more mixed reception in southern states.
The coming days will reveal how well the film sustains its momentum, especially in the Hindi-speaking markets.
