A revolutionary, new form of male contraception is here. Medical research organization Parsemus Foundation will soon be coming up with Vasalgel, a non hormonal contraceptive for males. The Vasalgel is the first Food and Drug Administration panel (FDA) approved contraceptive for males since condom.
The Vasalgel is expected to hit the American markets within 2018 to 2020. Vasalgel is a non-hormonal polymer injection which is injected into the male’s sperm carrying tubes that are accessible through the scrotum under local anesthetic. Unlike popular perception, the Vasalgel is not injected in testicles or penis.
The injection works as it prevents the sperm and the good news to those who wish to rethink about following this mode of contraception is that it is also reversible through another injection that dissolves the polymer. In other sense, Vasalgel contraceptive is not permanent and allows its users to rethink about contraception, unlike vasectomies which are permanent.
The medical tests are expected to start in 2016 and once the injections are out in the market, they will surely change the worl of family planning.
