That’s nearly 40 days after Baahubali release. The film stormed into 500 crores club in no time and became the highest grosser in India from Indian box office. And now, a Court has ordered to chop scenes from Baahubali movie, failing which an action would be taken against the theatre management across Tamilnadu state.
Last month, a petrol bomb was hurled at a theatre in Tamilnadu by members belonging to a local outfit called “Puratchi Puligal” is a known thing. The group is angry over the way a Dalit community, Arundhadiyar, has been portrayed in the film.
Though writer Madhan Karky apologised for the misunderstood dialogues of the movie, the issue was sought to Court and Madurai bench of Madras HC has now ordered district collectors to look into the chopping of scenes. Already Censor Board is heard imposing a cut on those scenes and Court asked officials to check if the cuts are implemented or not. Otherwise, theatre owners will be fined and then scenes will be chopped.
Directed by Rajamouli, Baahubali features an ensemble star cast including Prabhas, Rana, Anushka, Ramya Krishna, Tamanna, Satyaraj and Nasser who have delivered a stellar performance. Baahubai 2 is likely to release in 2016.
