Humiliating women are still abiding in modern culture. Mass cultural assumptions of masculinity belonging to men make it difficult for women to ‘fit in’ to male dominated organizations. This news will certainly disappoint even soft natured males.
Sydney’s Circular Quay Cruise Bar re-launch happened last night in ‘unique way’. Neither they announced any discounts nor did they introduce exclusive ‘cocktails’ in the party. For the uniqueness, they used female bodies as plates to serve food for customers. Women were hired to lie naked on long tables with nothing but fruit covering their bare bodies. What worse can we expect than this?
Needless to say, this shameless act of Cruise Bar organizers has caused a stir online. People are threatening to boycott the bar. Women’s advocate Melinda Tankard-Reist is one of the many objectors and she hopes people take a stand against the bar for ‘objectifying’ women. ‘I hope people decide to boycott Cruise Bar en masse for treating women like trays,’ said she.
Is this the way of treating women? People should not cross the barriers for the unique promotions and also to earn easy money!
