The Telagnana government decision to appoint film heroine Samantha as brand ambassador for Telangana handlooms as part of promoting the sale of domestic fabric did not go well in the political circles. The main opposition Telangana Congress strongly objected the nomination of Samantha as brand ambassador.
Telangana Congress senior leader Mohd Ali Shabbir questioned state IT and Industry minister KT Rama Rao the reasons behind selecting Samantha in a sudden. He pointed out some thing went wrong in the decision taken by the minister and demanded to come with the valid reason on the selection of Samantha as brand ambassador .
KTR had recently taken a big initiative to promote the sale of handlooms in a big way to protect the weavers form debt trap and strengthen then economically in the future.
