Pawan Kalyan Champions the Power of Books at Vijayawada Book Fair

January 3, 2025

Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh – Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan captivated the audience with his heartfelt appreciation for books during the inauguration of the 35th Vijayawada Book Fair at the Indira Gandhi Sports Ground. Speaking at the Ramoji Rao Sahitya Vedika, he emphasized the profound influence of books in shaping his personal journey and helping him overcome life’s challenges.

Recalling a memorable moment from his early career, Pawan Kalyan shared, “When I earned ₹15 lakhs for my superhit film Toliprema, I immediately went to a bookstore. It felt like stepping into a treasure vault. Books have always been my most cherished possessions, and I ended up spending over ₹1 lakh on them.” He urged everyone to preserve and promote the Telugu language by cultivating a habit of reading, adding, “We should set a personal goal of reading ten thousand books.”

In a lighter vein, Pawan humorously admitted his deep attachment to his book collection. “I wouldn’t think twice about giving away ₹1 crore, but I hesitate when it comes to parting with a book. If someone asks for one, I’d prefer buying them a new copy rather than giving away mine,” he quipped.

The event witnessed the presence of several eminent personalities, including Sahitya Academy Secretary K. Srinivasa Rao, editor M. Nageswara Rao, MP Kalisetti Appalanaidu, and MLA Mandali Buddhaprasad, making it a memorable celebration of literature and language.

Pawan Kalyan’s inspiring words and anecdotes reinforced the timeless value of books, leaving the audience with a renewed passion for reading.
