Synopsis:

Bairraju (Siddharth) and Shreya (Samantha) work in a wedding planning company. They lose their job on one occasion for no fault and they start their own wedding planner company called Shreyas Media and in a very short time. They go places in the field until one day differences creep in between them and they part their ways. Later both of them start separate companies and run in to losses. Finally what happens in their lives forms the rest of the story.

Performances:

Siddharth tried a new role in the movie. Unlike his previous movies, he tried mass comedy in the movie and used tapori kinda slang. But the role did not suit the actor and he appeared to have gone overboard in several occasions. Samantha looked extremely beautiful and rendered a good performance. It will not be an exaggeration to say she carried the entire movie on her shoulders. Nitya Menon is good too in the special appearance. Sri Hari in the role of Don Javed Bhai as always lived up to the expectations. Thagubothu Ramesh, Telangana Sakuntala, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam have managed some good laughs.

Technical aspects:

Jabardast is a blant copy of Bollywood blockbuster movie, Band Baaja Baraat. The director even went on to lift several scenes directly from the movie. This is exactly what not is expected from Nandini Reddy who had delivered promising stuff in Ala Modhalindhi. However, she had done good work in blending our nativity to the script. Even for the rip off, the screenplay is not up to the mark which only slowed the proceedings.

Thaman had come up with good numbers for the movie and the back ground score is just okay. The back ground score which comes in the climax is also an exact rip off from Band Baaja Baraat. Sameer Reddy’s cinematography is excellent. Kotagiri’s scissors should have worked better.

Final Say:

Few days ago, it was announced that Nani will be playing the lead role in the Telugu remake of Band Baaja Baraat. And now about 80% of the movie is mercilessly lifted by Nandini Reddy. Tragedy is several scenes were used as it is in this movie. The saddest part of this entire episode is Nandini Reddy even failed to execute the script perfectly after all this harakiri.

For the people who already watched Band Baaja Baraat, Jabardast will be the worst possible remake/free make of the movie. And for the rest of the people, it’s an average fare.
