Short mobile videos platform TikTok is a rage in India. Ever since it was introduced in the country, 190 million people have downloaded the videos and people are using it for entertainment to satirical videos. Now this craze has spread to politics.
An enthusiast has used in targeting the YSRCP Macharla MLA Ramakrishna Reddy. Recently this MLA was attacked by TDP supporters in Chinna Kakani, Guntur district. Based on this video, a TDP support identified as Avinash made a TikTok video using abusive language. This did not go well with YSRCP and the MLA supporters. They approached the police and lodged a complaint.
The police traced out that Avinash is residing in Hyderabad working in a software company. He was arrested and brought to Macharla police station.
This culture is not just in the AP, even in North, people are using TikTok to target politicians. But they should be careful of not crossing the line, if not will have to end up behind the bars.
