Vikram Back-to-Back Film Plans
Is Chiyaan Vikram gearing up for a rapid comeback with back-to-back projects? That certainly seems to be the case. He has already locked his 63rd and 64th films — the 63rd directed by Madone Shiva and the 64th helmed by Prem Kumar. Both projects have been officially announced, and regular shooting is expected to commence soon. Interestingly, even before these two films start, reports suggest that his 65th project is already in the works. Rumor has it that Raj Kumar Balakrishnan, who impressed at the national level with the film Parking, has given the green signal for this new venture.
Discussions between the key parties are reportedly ongoing, with an official announcement expected by the end of the year. Currently, Ram Kumar is directing a film starring Simbu, and once that project wraps, clarity on Vikram’s new film is expected. Meanwhile, Vikram is focused on completing the previously committed 63rd and 64th films.
Vikram’s last two films, Tungalan and Veeradeera Sooran, performed averagely at the box office and were not range-defining hits. Prior to these, Ponniyin Selvan was a massive success, but as a multi-starrer, most of the credit was shared, leaving Vikram without a full solo success. Consequently, over the past two years, he has been limited to only two films.
To maximize impact, he is now planning to complete and release new films as quickly as possible, announcing back-to-back projects. Both the 63rd and 64th films are expected to begin production this year, with simultaneous dates allocated for shooting.
These two films are likely to release next year, with the 65th project also in the pipeline. At the same time, Vikram is dedicating efforts to a film featuring his son Dhruv. After the limited success of his son’s previous two films, Vikram is working behind the scenes to ensure a grand success with the third project. In short, Vikram is keeping himself busy not only with his own projects but also managing a busy schedule to support his son’s upcoming film.
