New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo announced state emergency recently due to Covid-19 spread and he announced that the state is very badly affected by the disease spread.
The state released recent stats showing that out of 45,437 tests they have conducted, 10,356 people have been tested positive for the Virus.
Governor stated that as the tests increase, the number of patients will also increase. In just New York City, 6,211 positive cases have been registered and 15% of the infected are hospitalised.
FDA is sending the state doses of Hydroxychloroquine plus Zithromax which are used to treat people infected by HIV and arthritis. As around the world, the drugs proved to be successful in curing, mild to moderate cases, they are sending these drugs to the state.
Officially, the virus has no cure and vaccination but every country is trying all the known drugs to help patients survive the virus attack.
Also, the State officials estimate that 40-80% of the New Yorkers have been affected by the Covid-19. Alarming seems to be the mildest word we can use for the situation in New York state.
