Chief Minister KCR announced that a long-term strategy would be chalked out and implemented to completely revamp the education system in the state and strengthen government educational institutions. In this regard, an immediate meeting was held with educationists and subject matter experts (SME) to conduct an opinion poll.
Subsequent to the covid-19 pandemic, CM further stressed to follow the guidelines put forth by the University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and other such councils with a motto to modify administration, conduct of examinations and composition of syllabus.
He was of the opinion that it would be possible to curb the exploitation going on in the name of education. CM KCR held a wide-ranging meeting at Pragati Bhavan yesterday on the measures to be taken to augment the education system. It is suggested to start the engineering academic year from 17th August. He said the government would formulate a schedule of joint entrance exams so that students do not lose a valuable academic year.
He said the state government would take a final decision after considering the Centre’s guidelines on when schools should be reopened in the state and how education should be progressed.
