Film Chamber Tables key Ideas For OTT Release, Ticket Fares!

The OTTs which rescued the film industry during the pandemic time in serving as a big platform for the releases are now making it tough for the film industry. As the OTTs are providing the convenience of watching films whenever they want, movie lovers are not preferring going to theatres.

Moreover, the film industry is also struggling with the low hit percentage. Barring a few films like RRR, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Pushpa, and Bheemla Nayak, films ended up as duds and this is worrying the industry and the producers more.
Amid this, the Telugu Film Chamber Of Commerce is said to have called for a general meeting and discussed many things. While many things were discussed, the body is said to have taken a key decision on the OTT release of the films.

It has been widely reported that the body had placed a proposal that the small films which were made on a budget of below Rs 6 crore should be released only after four weeks of the theatrical release.Coming to the big films, the gap between the theatrical release and the OTT release should be around ten weeks so that the collections of the films will not get impacted.

Not just that, the body is also believed to have made some proposals as far as the prices of the movie tickets for various locations based on the budgets. The budget films will get the advantage with the ticket fares as the theatre owners will be allowed to sell tickets at higher prices in A, B, and C centers as well.

On the other hand, there is also a high chance for the body to discuss the much-talked-about online sale of movie tickets. It is known that things are not going well in Andhra Pradesh in this issue. While the government wants to go ahead with the online sale, the theatre distributors have some issues. The body might take a call on this and frame guidelines for the online sale of movie tickets.

The other pending issues in the industry like the hike in the cost of production, VPF charges, and the hike of workers would also be discussed.
