Shankar: ‘That’s Why I Decided to Do a Film in Telugu
Ram Charan has teamed up with renowned director Shankar for the highly anticipated political action-drama Game Changer, which boasts a high budget and an exciting storyline. The film is set to release worldwide on January 10. Ahead of its release, a pre-release event was held on January 4 in Rajahmundry, where several prominent political figures attended.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan was the chief guest at the event, joined by various dignitaries including cinematography minister Kandula Durgesh, MLAs Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary, Adireddy Vasu, Bathula Balaram, and Kolikapudi Srinivas. MLC Hari Prasad and KUDA chairman Thummala Babu were also present to support the film.
During the event, director Shankar shared his gratitude towards the dignitaries and the team. He expressed, “I thank Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan garu for attending the event. I met him once to invite him to my daughter’s wedding, and he received me so warmly. Within minutes of meeting him, I started admiring him.” Shankar went on to explain why he chose to work on a Telugu film: “I have never made a straight Telugu film in my career, but the way I was received here made me want to make a film in Telugu. I’m thankful to Dil Raju garu and Ram Charan garu for giving me this opportunity.”
Shankar also shared insights about the film, which revolves around a conflict between a minister and a collector, with the hero’s flashback being a key highlight. He praised the cast, saying, “Ram Charan garu truly lived in his role. Every actor, including Kiara Advani garu, Anjali garu, Srikanth garu, Naveen Chandra garu, and SJ Suryah garu, gave exceptional performances. Thaman has composed wonderful music for the film.” He concluded by thanking the entire team for their support throughout the making of Game Changer.
