For the past few days, fans and trade circles have been concerned about the slow advance bookings for Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s highly anticipated spy thriller War 2. The pre-sales so far have not matched the box office storm being created by Rajinikanth’s Coolie.

However, the mood shifted dramatically after the grand pre-release event held in Hyderabad on Sunday evening. Many believe the event has reignited excitement for the film at just the right time.

Much of the credit for this renewed buzz goes to director Ayan Mukerji, who dropped two intriguing updates about NTR’s character during his speech. Ayan revealed that audiences will witness a big surprise when they step into theaters on August 14, as the real essence of War 2 has not been revealed in any of the promos so far.

He further hinted that the film is not just about high-octane action — it will also feature a strong emotional core, with NTR’s role carrying significant depth and an emotional backstory.

Adding to the evening’s charm, ace Tollywood director Trivikram Srinivas served as Ayan’s translator. In his trademark style, Trivikram remarked that the makers wouldn’t have approached NTR simply for an action role, as the entire nation knows the emotional range he brings to his performances.

With these revelations, anticipation for War 2 has reached new heights, setting the stage for a massive Independence Day weekend release.
