NBK111: Balakrishna to Sing a Powerful New Track
Nandamuri Balakrishna’s passion for singing is well known, and his energetic live performances have always been a treat for fans. He previously turned a full-fledged playback singer with Puri Jagannadh’s Paisa Vasool, where he sang the iconic track “Mama Ek Peg La”—a song that became a chartbuster across generations.
Although he hasn’t sung for his films since then, Balakrishna has continued to perform at public events, adding his trademark charisma and liveliness. Now, the superstar is all set to lend his voice once again—this time for his upcoming film NBK111.
Balakrishna and music director Thaman have formed one of the most successful actor–composer combinations in recent times, working together on five consecutive films. NBK111 marks their sixth collaboration, showcasing a bond that is rare in the industry today.
Directed by Gopichand Malineni, who previously joined forces with Balakrishna for Veera Simha Reddy, NBK111 is a periodic action drama set in a historical backdrop. Thaman, who shares long-standing rapport with the director as well, has now confirmed that Balakrishna will sing a powerful song in the film.
Speaking about the special number, Thaman said:
“Balakrishna garu sings very well. We are planning a full-fledged song for him in NBK111. Since the film is set in the era of kingdoms, I want to compose something with strong vibrations—similar to the impact of ‘Saahore Baahubali’ from Baahubali 2.”
With this, fans can officially look forward to Balakrishna’s return as a singer.
NBK111 features Nayanthara as the female lead, and the shoot is set to begin in the coming weeks. Acclaimed cinematographer Arvind Kashyap, known for his work in Kantara, will handle the visuals. The film is being bankrolled by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner.
With Balakrishna’s powerful presence, Thaman’s music, and a grand historical setting, NBK111 is already creating strong anticipation among fans and audiences.
