Kollywood director AR Murugadoss is on the hunt for a hit after a string of commercial setbacks. Since his 2014 blockbuster Kaththi, films like Spyder, Sarkar, Darbar, and the recently released Sikandar failed to make an impact at the box office. Murugadoss is now banking on his upcoming actioner Madharaasi, featuring Amaran hero Sivakarthikeyan and Kannada beauty Rukmini Vasanth in lead roles.

Ever since the title Madharaasi was announced, there has been speculation that Murugadoss might be exploring a political drama. However, in a recent interview, he clarified that the film will be an action-packed story driven by love, reminiscent of his cult classic Ghajini, where the protagonist’s quest for revenge is fueled by a deeply emotional love story.

Although Murugadoss has kept the political angle under wraps, the comparison with Ghajini has heightened expectations among fans. With an in-form Sivakarthikeyan and the young sensation Rukmini Vasanth at the forefront, Madharaasi promises to be an engaging and thrilling cinematic experience.

Adding to the excitement, superstar composer Anirudh Ravichander, known for his consecutive chartbuster soundtracks, has crafted the music for Madharaasi, with songs set to release soon. The film is slated for a grand release on September 5th.
