YSR Congress leaders are already facing heat over the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam, with several prominent figures — including Mithun Reddy, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, and Raj Kasireddy — already under arrest.
Now, another controversy from the party’s past is resurfacing — the infamous Aadudam Andhra scam of 2023.
Reports suggest that the previous government spent around ₹119 crore on the sporting initiative. However, serious allegations of financial mismanagement have emerged, particularly in the procurement of sports equipment and the awarding of contracts.
The Andhra Pradesh Vigilance Department has completed its investigation and is expected to submit a detailed report to the DGP within the next couple of days. Once reviewed, the findings could trigger a formal probe by the police and other investigating agencies.
Former sports minister Roja is among those accused of severe financial irregularities in the project, and she could face legal trouble alongside other YSRCP leaders.
For now, all eyes are on the vigilance report to see what facts and evidence will come to light in the coming days.
