Telangana Night Frenzy Proves Prabhas’ Unmatched Stardom

Prabhas’ stardom in the Telugu states remains unparalleled, and the scenes witnessed across Telangana last night once again proved his unmatched box-office pull.

As the Government Order (GO) from the Telangana government did not arrive on time, premiere shows were not initially listed on BookMyShow, leading many to believe that there would be no paid premieres at all. Despite the uncertainty, hundreds of fans gathered near theatres and lingered in surrounding areas until as late as 11 p.m., holding onto the hope that shows would eventually open.

Their patience paid off when bookings finally went live after 11 p.m. for 11:20 p.m. screenings. The moment tickets became available, fans who were already near theatres rushed to the counters in huge numbers. Meanwhile, several fans attempting to book from home faced technical glitches and booking issues online. With no other option, they too hurried to theatres.

What followed was a throwback to the pre-online ticketing era. Fans ran to ticket counters, pushed through crowds, shouted slogans, and even fought their way through to secure tickets—scenes reminiscent of film frenzy from two decades ago.

The fact that shows opened only at 11 p.m. and yet almost all theatres turned houseful by 11:30 p.m. speaks volumes about Prabhas’ extraordinary stardom. Had the producers received the GO earlier and screened shows between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., they would have easily raked in massive revenues even at regular ticket prices.
