Chennai: Veteran actor Suman has once again sparked political curiosity by expressing his openness to joining active politics. In a recent media interaction, he revealed that several political parties in Tamil Nadu have approached him with offers to contest in the upcoming Assembly elections, even going as far as promising him an MLA ticket.
Suman, who was born and brought up in Tamil Nadu and rose to stardom through Tamil cinema, said he believes his deep-rooted connection with the state is one of the reasons parties are interested in fielding him as a candidate.
The actor didn’t limit his political comments to Tamil Nadu. He also spoke about Andhra Pradesh politics, stating that although the recent AP Assembly elections have concluded, he might consider entering politics in the state by 2029.
Over the years, Suman has expressed admiration for various political leaders. He has publicly appreciated YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for his governance and later lauded N. Chandrababu Naidu as well. This has led to some ambiguity about his political allegiance. However, one thing is clear — his interest in political life is steadily growing.
Whether Suman will officially step into politics through Tamil Nadu’s upcoming elections or wait for the right moment in Andhra Pradesh remains to be seen.
