Balagam Director Venu to Reveal Next Film Glimpse on Sankranthi Eve
One of the most talked-about Telugu films of recent times is the 2023 release Balagam, which took the industry by surprise. The film received widespread critical acclaim, struck a deep emotional chord with audiences, and eventually emerged as a cult hit, earning impressive box-office returns. Despite such a sensational debut, director and comedian Venu has remained tight-lipped about his second project—until now.
For a long while, speculations around Venu’s next film kept doing the rounds, but none of them materialised. Earlier, reports suggested that his sophomore venture would be titled Yellamma. Initially, Nani’s name was strongly associated with the project, and producer Dil Raju even confirmed it at one point. Later, Nithin reportedly came on board, only to exit the project subsequently. With multiple twists and turns, the project remained shrouded in mystery.
Putting an end to all the speculation, Venu has finally made an official announcement. He revealed that the first glimpse of his second film will be unveiled on Sankranthi eve, i.e., January 15 at 4:05 PM. While the title is yet to be officially confirmed, it is widely believed to be Yellamma.
The biggest buzz, however, revolves around the film’s lead actor. Music sensation Devi Sri Prasad, who has often expressed his interest in acting, is now rumored to be making his acting debut as the hero of this film. After years of speculation and hesitation, industry talk suggests that DSP may have finally taken the plunge.
Is Devi Sri Prasad really stepping in front of the camera for Venu’s next? The answer will be revealed very soon. All eyes are now on the Sankranthi eve glimpse.
