Adivi Sesh on Budget-Friendly Filmmaking: Simple Choices, Big Savings for Producers

At a time when film budgets are spiralling out of control, talented actor Adivi Sesh has shared a refreshingly practical viewpoint on how actors can help ease the financial burden on producers.

In a recent interaction, he explained that small, thoughtful choices by actors can make a big difference in managing production costs. For instance, Sesh revealed that he does not insist on business class travel for short trips like Hyderabad to Mumbai and is comfortable flying economy instead.

He also recalled an incident during the shoot of Goodachari in Himachal Pradesh, where Prakash Raj’s family accompanied him on location. As their presence required additional accommodation, the production initially faced increased expenses. To avoid putting extra pressure on the budget, Sesh opted to stay in a modest lodge costing around ₹400–₹500, helping free up hotel rooms for Prakash Raj’s family.

The actor pointed out that in many cases, off-screen expenses such as caravans, personal staff, stylists, managers, and security significantly inflate production budgets, sometimes even more than the actual filmmaking costs. He emphasized that if more actors adopt a similar practical approach, producers could save substantial amounts.

Known for his commitment to mid-budget, content-driven cinema, Adivi Sesh has consistently proved that strong storytelling does not require excessive spending. Films like Evaru and Goodachari stand as examples of his efficient filmmaking approach.

He is now gearing up for his upcoming film Dacoit, scheduled for release on April 10, which is also being made on a controlled budget with a strong content focus.
