Adobe has introduced the AI Assistant (beta) in Adobe Express, a conversational creation and editing feature that enables users to move from concept to polished content within minutes. The new tool allows users to design beyond standard templates simply by describing what they want. Adobe’s contextual understanding automatically generates layouts, visual recommendations and style adaptations aligned with a user’s personal or brand identity.
Users can toggle seamlessly between conversation-driven creation and hands-on editing tools such as sliders, colour selectors and layer adjustments. The assistant can modify fonts, images, and backgrounds while preserving the overall layout and design integrity.
“The new AI Assistant in Adobe Express is built to transform how you create,” said Govind Balakrishnan, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Adobe Express. “It removes obstacles, speeds up workflows and provides inspiration, allowing people to create content that reflects their unique brand or vision.”
The AI Assistant runs on Adobe’s generative AI models and integrates with major chatbot environments, supporting flexible conversational workflows. Adobe also announced the Dev MCP Server for Adobe Express Add-ons, enabling developers to build new features that support conversational design experiences.
The assistant can interpret highly abstract prompts—such as “make this more tropical”—and intelligently adjust elements like colour palettes, scenery, and typography. Enterprise customers will be able to leverage the tool for on-brand content creation through locked templates, batch editing and collaborative workflows.
The AI Assistant (beta) is currently available on desktop for Adobe Express Premium users, and will be broadly accessible upon general availability via Firefly generative credits.
