In contrast to the decades of old tradition of conducting Cock fights during Sankranthi festival, local people in Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh organized Pig Fights in the wake of ban on cock fights.
People of Tadipatri village in Anantapur district gathered in a big number to have a glimpse of the pig fight that was being conducted for the first time in the faction ridden area since this morning. TDP MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy inaugurated the game amidst festive spirit.
The cinematic fight between the pigs enthralled the audience who also participated in betting. This is the first time that pig fights have taken place on the eve of the Sankranthi festival in Andhra Pradesh.
