Akhilesh Proves Too Smart For KCR!

Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday turned out to be too shrewd for Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on the formation of federal front as a third alternative to the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party at the national level.

Akhilesh, who came to Hyderabad to hold discussions with KCR, appreciated the latter’s effort to bring all the regional parties on a single platform, but refused to commit on avoiding the Congress party in the front. All the while, he only was only talking about defeating the BJP in the next elections.

While he broadly agreed to extend support to KCR’s initiative, the Samajwadi Party president told him that the primary objective of the front should be to pull down the BJP government at the Centre.

Even while talking to media persons later, Akhilesh avoided talking about the Congress, but said only regional parties had the capacity to dethrone the BJP from power.

When media persons asked him whether the proposed Federal front would have his friend Rahul Gandhi as partner, Akhilesh said it was not an issue at all.

“It is not the time to discuss such issues at a time when all the parties are coming together to pull down the BJP from power. It is not correct to talk about whether a particular party will remain in the front or not,” he said.

Apparently, KCR was not so happy with Akhilesh’s stand, but did not show it up before the media.
