Director Prasanth Varma, who redefined Indian superhero cinema with the launch of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), is all set to take things up a notch with his next big project. After the resounding success of Hanu-Man, which earned both critical acclaim and commercial triumph, Varma is now gearing up for the third installment in his cinematic universe—MAHAKALI.
In a major casting coup, acclaimed Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna has been roped in for a pivotal role. Known for his compelling performances in films like Dil Chahta Hai, Section 375, and most recently Chhaava, Akshaye’s inclusion adds serious weight to the project and is already generating buzz across film circles.
While Prasanth Varma continues to be the creative force behind PVCU, he is also collaborating with a team of talented writers and directors to expand the universe. For certain films within the PVCU, he is entrusting the directorial reins to other filmmakers, while overseeing the larger vision himself.
MAHAKALI is being produced by RKD Studios and is set to be a high-budget spectacle that aims to push the boundaries of Indian superhero storytelling even further. With intense anticipation already building, more updates on the cast, crew, and production timeline are expected soon.
The PVCU is growing fast—and with MAHAKALI, it’s poised to get bolder, darker, and more powerful than ever before.
