Popular Telugu actor and comedian Ali, who has stayed away from politics over the past year, is once again stirring political speculation with talks of a possible return to active involvement with the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).
A photograph of Ali meeting YSRCP leader and former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi recently went viral on social media, reigniting discussions about his political comeback. In the photo, Ali is seen felicitating Vamsi with a shawl, which some party insiders interpret as a sign of renewed engagement with the party.
Ali had previously been an active campaigner for YSRCP, especially during the 2024 Assembly elections, focusing on constituencies with significant minority voter bases. However, after the party’s defeat, he stepped back from politics entirely, returning to the film industry and avoiding public political events.
Vamsi, who has recently recovered from illness and was released on bail, shares roots in the film industry, and insiders suggest that the meeting with Ali was largely a reflection of their personal rapport.
With the 2029 elections still a few years away, political analysts speculate that Ali could once again take on a prominent role in YSRCP’s outreach and campaigning efforts. While nothing is officially confirmed, sources note that his return to the political arena cannot be ruled out.
