Managing fame, finances, and a hectic schedule can be challenging for celebrities, especially during the peak of their careers. For Bollywood star Alia Bhatt, a recent betrayal from within her close circle has come as a major shock. Her former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, has been arrested by the Juhu Police for allegedly forging Alia’s signature and misappropriating funds.
According to reports, Vedika worked closely with Alia for a considerable period and is accused of embezzling over ₹76 lakh by generating fake bills. She allegedly siphoned off money not just from Alia’s personal accounts but also from her production house, Sunshine Productions.
Police sources confirmed that a formal complaint had earlier been filed by Alia’s mother regarding suspicious financial activity. Following an investigation, Vedika was taken into custody. The case is currently under further probe to uncover the complete extent of the fraud.
As of now, Alia Bhatt has not made any official statement about the incident.
On the professional front, the actress is immersed in the shooting of her upcoming film Jee Le Zara, where she shares screen space with Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra. The film, directed by Farhan Akhtar, is one of the most awaited female-led projects in Bollywood.
