From sometime, comedian Srinivas Reddy is trying his luck to become a happening hero and his third venture “Jamba Lakidi Pamba” is ready now. After “Geethanjali” and “Jayammu Nischayammu Ra”, this time he opted for a romantic comedy that focuses on the relation between a troubled couple.
But looking at the teaser of this film reminds one particular story that is doing rounds in Telugu industry at a time. A couple of years ago Allu Sirish was supposed to do a film with a newcomer, whose story deals with the soul-swapping concept. The boy’s body is taken by heroine’s soul and vice-versa. The idea is actually ripped from Hollywood movies like Switch (1991) and The Hot Chick (2002). After Sirish dropped that idea, the story later went to Raj Tarun, but he too backed out.
Recently we’ve seen director Maruthi’s camp coming up with “Aa Ee” movie which is also based on the same concept. And now, Srinivas Reddy’s “Jamba Lakidi Pamba” also deals with hero and heroine’s souls swapped after a big fight that leads to divorce. But before all these guys are copying that concept, actually Ram Gopal Varma came up with “Mr. Ya Miss” under Antara Mali’s direction (she’s heroine too).
Let’s see if Srinivas Reddy succeeds in convincing Telugu audiences with his soul-swapping acts. Featuring Siddhi Idnani as the heroine, the film is directed by JB Murali Krishna.
