The capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati, is set to witness a major connectivity boost with the construction of the upcoming Iconic Bridge, whose design has been officially approved by CM Chandrababu Naidu.
The design was earlier showcased on the CRDA website for public voting, where it garnered a massive response with over 14,000 votes in favor. Among the four proposed models, the second option received the highest support and has now been finalized.
This cable-stayed bridge will connect Amaravati city with the Vijayawada–Hyderabad roadway, linking N13 road in Amaravati to NH13.
With an estimated project cost of ₹2500 crore and a total passageway of 5.22 kilometers, tenders for the project will be called soon. Once completed, the bridge will drastically cut down the distance between Amaravati and Vijayawada — reducing travel from 40 km (via Mulapadu route) to just 5 km — and save significant commuting time.
This project is expected to stand as one of the landmark infrastructural developments under the new NDA government, symbolizing progress and modernization for the Amaravati region.
