If everything goes well, Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, will get an American Consulate. The minister of state Palle Raghunadha Reddy on Friday submitted a request to the US Consul General Michael Mullins to set up a Consulate in Amaravati and that he has also promised the Consul General of providing the necessary infrastructure.
The minister also said that he requested Michael to increase the H1 visas from the existing 60,000 and also to increase the work hours of Indian students with F1 visas beyond 30 hours per week. Speaking further, the minister said that a further request has been laid regarding the issuance of visas to the spouses of H1 visa holders who migrated to EAD.
The minister also requested for smooth logistics during the shipment of bodies of Indians who die in accidents in the USA, apart from issuing immediate visas to the family members of the deceased in a single working day. Apparently, the Consul General has responded positively to the minister’s request.
