The Tollywood film industry has been in the news for quite some time as various bodies related to the industry are meeting regularly at regular intervals to discuss various issues as far as the film industry is concerned. One such meeting was held the other day and the decision to halt the shootings was taken at the meeting.
The Active Telugu Film Producers Guild (ATFPG) issued a press release saying that till they take key decisions, the shootings will be stopped and the halting of the shoot will come into effect from the 1st of August.
But the issue took a sudden twist as Telugu Film Producer Council chairman C. Kalyan countered the claims made by the ATFPG and said that the shootings will not be stopped and the ATFPG members can halt the shootings if they want. Saying that they have bodies that help them function, Kalyan said they will take a call on this after they hold a meeting.
Since the issues in the Tollywood film industry popped up, they are shedding light on the alleged cracks among the producers. On various issues, the producers could not jump to a common conclusion. Be it the OTT release or fixing the prices of movie tickets for various centers.
Once again, the alleged cracks popped up in the industry among the producers as the Telugu Film Producer Council deferred with what the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild (ATFPG) decided and the decision they took.
The film industry works collectively and it cannot progress if members support others. When the Baahubali film was released, Superstar Mahesh Babu postponed the release of his Srimanthudu and paved the way for the release of the Pan-India film. The same happened when RRR happened. A few films postponed their releases. This shows how the industry is dependent on mutual help and respect.
Adding fuel to the alleged disputes, the Telugu Film Producer Council members said that what the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild (ATFPG) decided is their personal issue and they have nothing to do with the decision. It’s high time that the producers should focus on coming to one decision. As the industry is facing some issues, the producers should think about coming together.
