Dhurandhar 2 Takes Early Lead Over Toxic in US Advance Sales

All eyes are on March 19 as two of the year’s most anticipated big-budget films gear up for a high-voltage box office clash. The showdown is being widely projected as a Bollywood versus South cinema face-off, with Dhurandhar 2 locking horns with the pan-India action spectacle Toxic: A Fairytale of Grown-Ups.

With just over two weeks left for release, overseas advance bookings have begun, and early trade trends suggest a clear lead for Dhurandhar 2 in the United States market. The Ranveer Singh starrer is witnessing stronger initial traction in ticket sales, even though premiere shows are still nearly 18 days away.

As of now, Dhurandhar 2 has reportedly registered advance sales of around $13K in North America, while Toxic has clocked approximately $3K. Notably, the first installment of the franchise was a massive overseas success, crossing the $20 million mark in the same territory, which is likely contributing to the strong anticipation for the sequel.

Interestingly, despite relatively limited promotional activity so far, Dhurandhar 2 appears to be the preferred choice among overseas audiences. The success of the original film and the excitement surrounding the sequel seem to be driving early momentum.

On the other hand, the team behind Toxic, headlined by Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas, has been actively ramping up promotions. The makers have released two teasers and are consistently sharing distribution updates to build pan-India buzz across multiple languages. The film’s wide release strategy aims to capitalize on its massive appeal nationwide.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar, boasts an ensemble cast and is currently dominating the pre-release sales race.

With momentum building on both sides, it will be interesting to see how this much-anticipated box office battle unfolds as the release date approaches.
