Anaganaga: A Heartfelt Take on Education and Family

ETV Win’s latest original, Anaganaga, has sparked conversation ever since its trailer dropped. Featuring Sumanth and Kajal Choudhary in the lead roles, this social drama is directed by Sunny Sanjay and is now available for streaming.

The story centers on Vyas (played by Sumanth), a teacher who challenges the traditional, rote-learning methods practiced in elite international schools. Instead, he advocates for concept-based learning—a progressive approach that puts him at odds with the school’s management. While the premise may appear straightforward, the film introduces emotional depth through subplots involving Vyas’s family, making the narrative more layered and relatable.

Kajal Choudhary plays the role of a school principal and Vyas’s wife. Interestingly, she doesn’t support his educational philosophy. Their ideological differences come to a head when their son, taught by Vyas himself, fails in his exams. This sparks a powerful domestic conflict, turning the film into more than just a critique of the education system—it becomes a story about perspectives, parenting, and emotional resilience.

Anaganaga revolves around three central characters—each firm in their beliefs. Director Sunny Sanjay skillfully captures the tension and emotional toll this ideological clash takes on the family. While the film doesn’t offer a particularly novel plot, it gains strength from its emotional storytelling and relevant themes.

The performances from the lead actors are competent, though not outstanding. However, what stands out most is the film’s message. Anaganaga delivers a timely and impactful take on the pressure that parents often place on children and how academic failure can deeply affect a student’s mental well-being. It encourages empathy, resilience, and a rethinking of success and failure in education.

Visually, the film is enhanced by solid cinematography, well-composed songs, and strong production design. The presence of seasoned actors like Srinivas Avasarala also adds to the film’s appeal.

While Anaganaga takes its time to arrive at the central conflict, once it does, it offers a meaningful and emotionally rich experience. It’s a clean, family-friendly film that makes a strong case for reimagining how we perceive education and failure. A recommended watch for parents, students, and educators alike.
