Ananya Panday, who is steadily rising in her career, has surprised everyone by stepping away from Maddock Films’ upcoming fantasy-romance drama Choomantar. The actress reportedly opted out due to scheduling conflicts. Though the film is set to begin production next month, Ananya is prioritizing the shoot of the second season of her hit web series Call Me Bae. She was initially keen on working with the makers of Munjya and Stree 2, but the dates simply didn’t align.
Interestingly, Sreeleela is now in talks to replace her.
While Sreeleela hasn’t been getting major offers in Telugu—her last release Mass Jathara also failed at the box office—Bollywood seems to be welcoming her with open arms. Even before the release of her Hindi debut with Anurag Basu and Kartik Aaryan, she has already become a sought-after name in Bollywood circles. She is also being considered for a dance number in another Hindi film and is in discussions with multiple filmmakers.
In between these developments, Choomantar could turn out to be a strong opportunity for Sreeleela. If she lands the role, it could give her a significant boost as she builds her space in Hindi cinema.
