Director Anil Ravipudi is riding high on the massive success of his latest blockbuster Mana Shankara VaraPrasad Garu. In an exclusive conversation with maqnatelugu , he spoke candidly about the film’s success, his journey with comedy, working with Megastar Chiranjeevi, and what lies ahead for him.

Reflecting on the audience response, Anil said the love from family audiences gave him the greatest satisfaction. He recalled the joy of seeing families attend late-night premieres during the Sankranti season, calling it a rare and unforgettable experience. He emphasized that every hit brings a different kind of happiness, shaped by the hero and the film’s setup.

Talking about Chiranjeevi, Anil explained that his goal was to bring back the vintage Megastar he grew up watching. He crafted the character as a relatable, common man, allowing comedy to flow naturally and giving even supporting characters room to shine. He highlighted a dining table scene, where Chiranjeevi transitions from humor to emotion in seconds, showcasing his legendary acting range.

On comedy, Anil admitted that even after 15 years, writing humor is never easy. To keep it fresh, he changes the setting and emotional core for each film. While some of his earlier films explored jealousy, this film focused on ego, particularly within a divorced couple. He also shared insights behind the popular crow scene, inspired by the belief that a crow’s call signals guests’ arrival, which became one of the audience’s favorite moments.

Addressing the kitty party sequence, Anil said he approached it cautiously due to its sensitive nature but was pleased that women audiences enjoyed it. He clarified that his intention was not to criticize anyone but to reflect real-life situations in a lighthearted manner.

Looking ahead, Anil revealed that he has already locked a powerful idea for his next film. While enjoying the current success, he feels a heightened responsibility to deliver entertaining cinema in the future.
