Producer Anil Sunkara’s journey in the film industry has been a mix of remarkable highs and painful setbacks. During his time as a partner at 14 Reels Entertainment, he was associated with blockbuster projects such as Dookudu and 1: Nenokkadine, which brought him both recognition and success. Parallelly, he also ventured into producing smaller films under his own banner, AK Entertainments.
After parting ways with 14 Reels, Anil chose to concentrate entirely on AK Entertainments. Gradually, the banner transitioned from making small-budget films to mounting ambitious, big-scale projects. However, this shift proved to be a costly gamble. Movies like Mahasamudram, Agent, and Bhola Shankar were launched with high expectations but ended up as major box-office disasters. These back-to-back failures reportedly resulted in huge financial losses, placing Anil under immense pressure.
Despite facing severe setbacks, Anil Sunkara did not step away from cinema. Instead, he recalibrated his strategy and turned his attention towards small and mid-range films. This approach brought some relief, as Samajavaragamana emerged as a profitable venture, while Majaka managed to recover its costs due to disciplined budgeting.
Now, Nari Nari Naduma Murari has marked a strong turnaround for the producer. Made on a modest budget, the film entered the competitive Sankranti season without much hype but steadily picked up momentum through positive word of mouth. With collections on the rise, the film is expected to deliver healthy profits, helping Anil Sunkara regain confidence and re-establish his footing as a producer.
