Anushka Shetty’s upcoming film Ghaati, directed by Krish, has been postponed indefinitely due to ongoing delays in visual effects work. Initially scheduled for an April 2025 release and later rescheduled to July 11, the film’s release has now been put on hold once again.
According to industry sources, Anushka was reportedly dissatisfied with certain CGI sequences, particularly those involving her facial features and physique. She is said to have requested additional digital enhancements, which have extended the post-production timeline significantly. In recent years, several of her films have required extensive visual corrections, contributing to longer turnaround times in post-production.
Producers have confirmed that a new release date will only be announced after Anushka personally approves the final visual output. At the earliest, Ghaati is now expected to hit screens in either September or October 2025.
Set against the gritty backdrop of ganja smuggling in the Uttarandhra region, Ghaati features Anushka in a powerful role as the queenpin of the smuggling operation, marking a bold shift in her on-screen persona.
