Anushka Shetty’s upcoming film Ghaati, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, has already made a strong impression with its promos. The actress describes her character, Sheelavathi, as a layered and incredible role. “I’ve never played a character like this before. It pushed me beyond my comfort zone, and I’m really proud of that,” she shared.
Anushka revealed that she was immediately drawn to the story when director Krish and writer Srinivas narrated it to her. “The cultural depth of the story fascinated me. Visiting the locations, it became clear we were presenting something visually and culturally unique to audiences, which was very exciting.”
The film tackles the issue of ganja, and Anushka praised Krish for handling it sensitively and effectively. “Krish always chooses socially relevant stories. While Ghaati is an action-packed commercial entertainer, it also delivers a strong and positive message.”
Shot in remote areas along the Andhra–Odisha border, the film drew large crowds of fans eager to catch a glimpse of Anushka. “I’m always grateful for the love and support of my fans. When you put in good work, recognition follows. I thank all the directors and producers who have given me such incredible roles since Arundhathi,” she added.
Anushka remains hopeful that Ghaati will achieve both critical acclaim and commercial success.
