In what is seen as a first-step to strengthen the ties between neighbouring states Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Telangana CM KCR has said that AP can use the Godavari after Dummugudem project. KCR said that AP government could use 1,500 tmc ft. KCR opined that it’d be silly to allow water to go waste as it’d otherwise flow into sea. When asked about Chandrababu Naidu not giving Polavaram submerged villages to Telangana, KCR said that the states should adopt a “give and take” policy.

KCR added that “Controversies on petty issues is unwanted. Nothing would be gained out of quarreling on small things. Telangana wants to maintain healthy relation with its neighbouring states and we always want to have good relation with AP”KCR added that both states were Telugu speaking and “mutual cooperation” was need for the development of the two states.

KCR further said that Chandrababu had agreed to give five Polavaram project villages to TS when he had attended the Amaravati foundation laying program.
