Sibling states Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, which are in competition for each and everything due to rivalry are now competing against each other to organise Godavari pushkaralu in a grand manner taking it as a prestige issue. Already AP Endowments Minister P Manikyala Rao announced that proposals are there to organise pushkaralu in a grand manner with 900 crores.
He said plans are on to organise festival with 100 crs from state Endowments ministry, 600 crs from Union Govt and another 200 crs from various other departments. He said all 12 departments like Roads, Buildings, Health, Electricity are working overnight to make it a grand success. Even Telangana Govt too decided to celebrate Godavari pushkaralu in a lavish manner.
Officials met in Secretariat to come with a road map. They decided to make all arrangements so that people will not face any trouble. They are arranging bathing facilities at the river banks, lighting, roads etc. A source said they are planning to streamline decisions and come with a proposal to submit to CM KCR.
