Apple to Launch High-End MacBook Ultra with Touchscreen by 2026

Apple is reportedly preparing to launch a high-end MacBook model that may feature a touchscreen display, potentially named “MacBook Ultra.” This new model is expected to be priced higher than the current MacBook Pro lineup.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple may introduce an entirely new MacBook line rather than just updating the MacBook Pro. Earlier reports had suggested redesigned MacBook Pro models with the M6 series, a slimmer chassis, and a touchscreen OLED display. However, the latest rumours indicate a different approach.

Apple has traditionally avoided adding touchscreens to MacBooks, keeping the iPad as its primary touch-based platform. A touchscreen MacBook could therefore mark a significant evolution in the Mac lineup. If the reports are accurate, MacBook users can expect a premium laptop with OLED touchscreen features, fulfilling a long-awaited upgrade.

Gurman also noted that the new high-end MacBook “could retain the traditional ‌MacBook Pro‌ name” but would be positioned at the top of Apple’s lineup, featuring advanced hardware and display technology. This MacBook Ultra is expected to sit above the MacBook Pro models as Apple expands its premium offerings.

With Apple also entering the affordable segment with the MacBook Neo, a high-priced premium model appears to be part of its broader strategy. The high-end MacBook is anticipated to launch by the end of 2026, marking a new era for Apple’s Mac lineup.
