AR Murugadoss Struggles to Land Big Telugu Projects

Back in the days of Ghajini and Stalin, A.R. Murugadoss was one of the most sought-after directors in Telugu cinema and Kollywood, with big stars lining up to work with him. However, recent developments suggest that the celebrated filmmaker might be experiencing a slowdown in his career.

After watching the mixed responses to Salman Khan’s Sikander and Sivakarthikeyan’s Madhrasi, many industry insiders feel that Murugadoss is not commanding the same box office pull as before. Reports indicate that he has been trying to secure dates with top Telugu stars, including Allu Arjun and Ram Charan, but these projects have failed to materialize. Despite backing from major production houses, Murugadoss’ scripts reportedly failed to excite the actors, leading to polite declines.

The latest buzz from Kollywood reveals that Murugadoss recently narrated a story to Tamil star Simbhu, who is currently facing his own box office challenges. However, Simbhu is busy with Vetrimaran’s upcoming film and another project. He may consider Murugadoss’ film only after completing these commitments.

Meanwhile, Murugadoss is reportedly producing two smaller films, following the pattern of projects like Raja Rani, Akira, and Rangoon, indicating his continued interest in backing fresh ventures despite the hurdles in his directorial career.
