It has been three weeks since the release of ‘Arjun Reddy’ and the exhibitors are still waiting for another film that can bring smile on their faces.
As 4 notable Telugu films released today, audience as well as exhibitors were hopeful that at least one or two films would turn out to be decent. Well, it has proved to be another disappointing Friday as all the new releases received poor to poorer talk. Not even Vijayendra Prasad’s ‘Sri Valli’ and Nara Rohit’s promisingly looking but much delayed ‘Kathalo Rajakumari’ could impress audience.
Balayya’s ‘Paisa Vasool’, Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Yuddham Sharanam’ and Allari Naresh’s ‘Meda Meeda Abbayi’ were released over the last two weeks, and none could turn a money-spinner at box office. What’s agonizing audience and exhibitors is that among the 10-odd releases post Arjun Reddy, not even one film received at least average talk.
Now, all hopes are on NTR’s ‘Jai Lava Kusa’, which is going have a wide release on September 21, next Thursday. Irrespective of the talk, the film is expected to attract audience in big numbers to audiences thanks to the Dasara holidays season. Mahesh’s SPYder and Sharwanand’s promising ‘Mahanubhavudu’ are expected to make the Dasara box office battle interesting and along with JLK, keep theaters packed over the next two weeks.
And then, we will have two Big releases for Diwali weekend – Ravi Teja’s ‘Raja The Great’ and Nagarjuna’s ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’. Hence, audience will have to bear a few more days of dryness in theatres to start witnessing a storm at box office which is likely to continue for a month at least.
