Attack Movie Review
Story:
Attack is all about the elimination of a powerful businessman, Guru Raj (Prakash Raj) and how his elder son, Kali (Jagapathi Babu) decides to takes revenge on his father’s killers. But in the process, Kali also gets killed and the Operation Revenge is undertaken by Guru Raj’s third son, Radha (Manoj). Rest of the story is what happens to Radha in the mission and a twist involving Guru Raj’s second son(Vadde Naveen).
Performances:
It is a different outing for Manchu Manoj in this film and the role. He got a meaty role more in the second half. His getup and gritty look worked very well. His performance particularly in the climax deserves applause. Jagapathi Babu is fine while Vadde Naveen makes an impressive comeback. Prakash Raj is okay in a little cameo like role. Heroine Surabhi is totally wasted in a very limited role while Poonam Kaur is weird and loud. Abhimanyu Singh as the villain, looked silly and repetitive.
Technical Performances:
Ram Gopal Varma came up with a stone age old story giving it Old City backdrop. RGV further mashed it up with a weak narration. There are too many characters in the film and the director takes a lot of time to showcase who is behind the revenge drama and which character does what. Further, the Climax is stretched for a very long time and it becomes the final nail in the film’s coffin.
The camera work is brilliant as always in the case of RGV films. The arial shots of Old city have been shot exceptionally well. Ravi Shankar’s music is easily forgettable. The movie is under 2 hours but still feels like very long. The Editor did not use the chance to chop down several unnecessary scenes. Production Values are okay.

Final Say:
Attack is one more disappointment for Ram Gopal Varma. The ace director has no one to blame for this disaster except for himself. The lack of seriousness is clearly visible in every frame. Manchu Manoj will repent for trusting RGV.
