The highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster 2019 action film War is almost ready and will hit screens on August 14th. This time, alongside Hrithik Roshan, the film brings Jr NTR on board as the new addition to its powerhouse cast.
While the first installment was directed by Siddharth Anand, the sequel is helmed by Ayan Mukerji, who is well aware of the huge responsibility that comes with carrying forward such a successful franchise. Speaking about it in a recent interview, Ayan said, “It is a huge responsibility to take forward a hugely loved franchise like War and leave your mark on it.”
Bringing together two big stars is an exciting yet challenging endeavor, and Ayan doesn’t shy away from admitting the pressure. “I have to be honest as a filmmaker, and I also understand the expectations that I carry with this project — both from Hrithik and Jr NTR’s fans. But I’ve tried to stay as honest as possible in creating a lifetime experience for the audience,” he added.
Ayan Mukerji is confident about the action sequences, hinting at an intense face‑off between Hrithik and Jr NTR that will redefine adrenaline‑pumping entertainment. The film also stars Kiara Advani in the female lead role. Interestingly, War 2 will clash with Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated film Coolie, making August 14th a blockbuster date for movie lovers across the country.
